Obituary: Robert Maiolie, Class of 1987

Robert MaiolieRobert Anthony “Bob” Maiolie, 45, died peacefully Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at his home in New Alexandria (Derry Township) with his loving family at his side. He was born Jan. 28, 1968, in Jeannette, loving son of Ethel Shedlock Maiolie and the late James Thomas Maiolie. For anyone that knew him, Robert’s smile would light up a room and his laughter was contagious! He was a graduate of the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in Pittsburgh. In addition to his mother, Robert is survived by his son, Anthony Robert Maiolie and his wife, Eileen, of New Alexandria, and their son, Nathaniel; beloved fiancee, Tammy Varner, of Shippensburg; sisters, Donna Schneider and her husband, Pete, of New Alexandria, and Kathleen Maiolie and her fiance, Marc Landry, of New Alexandria; and brothers, James Maiolie Jr. and his wife, Gail, of New Alexandria, and Thomas Maiolie and his fiancee, Dana Rost, of New Alexandria. Also surviving are nephews, Robert Bradosky and his fiancee, Melinda, James Maiolie III, Joshua Maiolie and Tyler Ross Maiolie; niece, Kassandra Gates; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at BASH-NIED FUNERAL HOME, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, 724-468-8381, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with Mike Hazelton, of Hempfield Church of Christ of Greensburg, presiding. Interment will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. Memorial donations may be made to Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf, 300 E. Swissvale Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15218, or to American Cancer Society, 863 George’s Station Road, Greensburg, PA 15601.
