Obituary: John Waronek, Class of 1956

John Waronek, 79, Windber passed away March 6, 2017. Born August 7, 1937 in Windber. Son of Casmier and Josephine Waronek. Preceded in death by parents and brothers, Edward and Frank Waronek. Survived by brother, Tom Waronek and sister, JoAnne Drenning, both of Windber and numerous nieces and nephews. John was a graduate of the Edgewood School of the Deaf, Pittsburgh and also the Vale Tec, auto body program. He was a member of the Scalp Level – Paint Volunteer Fire Department and was an avid walker, hunter and fisherman. John attended the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Johnstown. Friends received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the William Kisiel Funeral Home, Windber where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday. Reverend Peter Nordlund, officiating. Interment Richland Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Scalp Level – Paint Volunteer Fire Company in John’s memory.
