Obituary: Walter E. Turner

Mr. Walter E. Turner, 91, passed away at 8:37 p.m., on Monday, June 25, 2018, at his residence.

Mr. Turner was born on Feb. 2, 1927, in Youngsville, to the late Monte and Myrtle Crawford Turner.

He was employed for 43 years at Parker White Metal Company in Fairview. He worked in the finishing, grinding and shipping departments, until his retirement in 1992.

Walter was a member of the Oil City Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and WPSD (Western PA School for the Deaf). He was very active in his church functions with the deaf and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by nine children, Shirley Palmer and husband, Roderick, of Cooperstown, Benjamin Turner and wife, Vera, of Knoxville, Tenn., Twila Rogan and husband, Timothy, of Frederick, Md., Robin Turner, of McKees Rocks, Beverly Turner, of Pittsburgh, Patricia Turner, of Texas, Hazel Turner, of Maryland, Jo ann Simala and husband, Mark, of Wellsburg, W.Va., Sara Adams and husband, Ryan, of Texas; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Walter was preceded in death by a brother, Lee Turner; and two sisters, Mary Nelson and Eleanor Peter.
