Clara E. (Taylor) Capretto, 90, of Vandergrift, passed away on Monday, August 20, 2018 at AHN- Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights.

Born September 4, 1927 in Lower Burrell, she was a daughter of the late John & Hazel (Kunkle) Taylor.

Clara lived in Vandergrift most of her life, and was a member of St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church. She was a graduate of the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf, and continued advocating as part of the Pittsburgh Association of the Deaf, life member of the PA Society for the Advancement of the Deaf, and the Western PA Deaf Senior Citizens.

Clara enjoyed cooking, sewing, and working on crafts.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick “Patsy” Capretto, Jr., who passed away on May 15, 2008; and her sisters, Pearl Crooks & Dorothy Matisz.

Clara is survived by her daughter, Jenny L. (Kevin S.) Moses of Vandergrift; sisters, Wanda Toth of Springdale, Lavern Siebert of Upper Burrell; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her beloved deaf family.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Brady-Curran Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 429 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift. A blessing service will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Father James Loew, O.S.B. officiating. Entombment in Greenwood Memorial Park will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Memorial Contributions be made to the Western Pennsylvania School For The Deaf, 300 East Swissvale Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15218.
