Obituary: Herbert Overly

Herbert D. Overly, 81, of Penn Twp., passed away peacefully at home on December 26, 2018. He was born on September 17, 1937 in Mt. Braddock, PA, to Jesse and Alice (Martin) Overly. Herbert is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Frances (Orange) Overly. Also survived by his sister, Martha Rae Herwitt; special niece and caregiver, Kellie Pedder; and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings; Dot, Margaret, James, Jesse, Jean, Delmar, and Jimmie. Herbert worked for the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf for 34 years. He was a former member of the Pennsylvania Association for Deaf Senior Citizens and was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Export. Friends will be received Friday from 4-8 p.m. at Lindsay-Jobe Funeral Home, Inc., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Entombment will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park. www.Lindsay-JobeFuneralHome.com.
