Evelyn was born July 10, 1930 in McDonald, Pennsylvania to the late Angelo and Antonietta (Tonetti) Vetterol.She was a graduate of the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf where she lettered in Cheerleading.

Evelyn loved crafts of all kinds! She also like to crochet, and play cards with family or with friends at the Warren Scope. She was an avid Steelers, Pirates, Penguins, and Ohio State Buckeyes Fan!

She was a member of St. Robert’s Catholic Church and the Warren Association of the Deaf.Evelyn retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1978 as a letter sorter.

Besides her parents, Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband Stephen Martin Horkey, Sr., three brothers and four sisters. Evelyn is survived by her children, Stephen M. (Cindi) Horkey, Jr., James A. (Michele) Horkey, and Debbie E. Shank; six grandchildrenand six and a half great-grandchildren, a sister Edith Vanelli, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call 4-7PM Wednesday at the Lane Funeral Home, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Dr. NE in Warren. Friends and family will gather from 9 to 9:30AM Thursday at the funeral home to form the procession.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10AM Thursday, March 21 at St. Robert’s Catholic Church,4659 St. Rt 46 in Cortland with Rev. Fr. Carl Kish Officiant. Entombment in All Souls Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Robert’s Catholic Church.
