PITTSBURGH —

The 9th annual “Pitch Perfect” baseball camp at PNC Park is a joint effort between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf (WPSD).

WSPD students are able to to learn the skills of softball from former Pirates including Grant Jackson and Mike McKenry on the outfield of PNC Park.

The Pirates involvement began when manager Clint Hurdle came to the camp nine years ago when it was held at Etna Park.

Now, more than 200 kids from the school hit the field to learn the finer points of the game.
