Joann E. Dixon, 78, Roaring Spring, died Thursday morning at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center after a brief illness.

She was born in Tyrone, daughter of the late Walter Milroy and Wilda (Houser) Hiney. On June 3, 1967, she married Durbin G. Dixon in Tyrone.

Surviving are her husband; three sons: Doug G. Dixon of Pittsburgh, Mark W. Dixon and wife, Rebecca, of Sterling, Conn., and Scott Dixon of Pittsburgh; three grandchildren: Harley, Marie and Marcos; and a great-grandson, Jameson.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Hiney.

Joann was a graduate of the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf. She retired from Westvaco, Williamsburg, after many years of service. She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church, Tyrone.

She enjoyed crocheting and gardening.

At the request of the deceased, a service will be held at the convenience of the family. A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.
