Edna May Humes, 87 of Cheektowaga, NY, died February 9, 2022 at ECMC Hospital. Edna was born in Erie, PA; daughter of Leon and Anna (Sokoloff) Trefonoff. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Millard Humes; a sister, Evelyn Adams of Erie, PA and a brother, Sam Mange of Erie, PA.
Survivors include Patrick (Deborah) Humes of Clearwater FL; Terry (Elaine) Humes of Erie, PA; Mary (Robert) Winkler of Clearwater, FL and Bobby (Karen) Humes of Cheektowaga, NY and her grandson Robert (Caroline) Humes who was by her side for many days while she was in Comfort Care at ECMC
In addition to her grandson Robert, she is survived by an additional 6 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Edna attended Pittsburgh School for the Deaf and graduated in 1952. She went to work in Erie in her mid-60’s at the Avalon Hotel in the Housekeeping Department. She enjoyed her work there and her friendly co-workers for approximately 15 years. She also worked for the Sheraton Hotel on the Bay in Erie.
Cremation was handled by the Pacer Funeral Home in Buffalo.
