Obituary: June (Carnahan) Paul, Class of 1948

June Lorraine Carnahan Paul, 95, current resident of Lighthouse Point in Aspinwall and longtime resident of Cheswick, passed away Monday, Aug. 29, 2022.

She was born June 14, 1927, to her parents, the late Paul and Joanna McElroy Carnahan. Mrs. Paul graduated from the Western PA School for the Deaf (WPSD).

She was married to James B. Paul Oct. 13, 1951. They were happily married for over 56 years, until Jan. 17, 2008, when Jim passed away.

She was very involved with the Pittsburgh deaf community, especially with the WPSD and the Lutheran church for the deaf in Wilkinsburg.

She had many close friends in the deaf community whom she loved very much. She was predeceased by her parents; her loving husband, Jim Paul; daughter, Carol Jean Paul; sister, Audrey Carnahan; brother, Alan Carnahan; and grandson, Timothy Paul. Surviving June are her sons, Richard J. Paul, Mark C. Paul and his wife, Nancy Paul; sister, Pauline Carnahan; grandchildren, Kathryn J. Paul Blystone and her husband, Corey Blystone, Shelby R. Paul Smith and her husband, Nathan Smith, Thomas Davidson and his wife, Jennifer, and their children Madison and Jadyn, Tracey Davidson and her husband, Bobby Baumgardner; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022, immediately followed by a service at noon.
