Obituary: Lawrence McClelland, Class of 1946

Lawrence Merle McClelland, 94, of Brunswick, passed away December 31, 2020.  He was born in September 3, 1926 to William and Ruth McClelland in Cambria County, Pennsylvania.

Lawrence grew up in Barnesbore and attended Pittsburgh School for the Deaf until his graduation in 1946. It was there that he met his wife Winona, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage until her passing in 2011.  He worked as a coal miner before moving on to work at Cleveland, Ohio performing custodial duties while worshipping and ‘making coffee for the old folks.’ He was an avid bowler, participating in several bowling leagues and he also enjoyed hunting.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ruth; dear brother, Robert; his beloved wife, Winona; daughters, Agnes and Donna and a grandson, Keith.  He leaves us all to cherish memories of him, daughter, Sheila (Michael) Petro; grandchildren, Steven, Nicole and Eugene Solomon, Jennifer (Aaron) Zammert and Jessica Petro; many great-grandchildren and a lifetime of collected friends.
