Pauline Shay (Hill)
She was the beloved mother of 1978 WPSD graduate Robin Shay as well as the mother-in-law to 1972 graduate and former WPSD teacher, Rita Mowl. Rita taught at WPSD in 1976.
Polly will always be remembered as a kind sweet loving person who always had a beautiful smile and was always willing to help anyone.
As best as I can determine, Polly started working at WPSD in 1968 as a teacher’s aide. She held various types of job titles there. At one point she was the computer proctor for the school. I believe that Polly retired from WPSD in 2003 when she was working as an office assistant.
Age 92, of Edgewood, peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022, surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of the late Luther R. Shay. Loving mother of Paul Shay (Diana), Linda Shay, Robin Shay (Rita Mowl), and the late David Shay (Diane Shaffer surviving). Grandmother of Adam Shay (Stacy), Marissa McGann (Nicholas), Darla Whitlock (Tres), and Paul Luther Shay (Nicole). Great-grandmother of Liam Shay, Noah Shay, Juliet McGann, Serena McGann, Wyatt Whitlock, Graham Whitlock, and Tucker Whitlock. Daughter of the late Paul Allen and Carrie (Clawson) Hill. Sister of the late Milton Hill (late Jane), Betty Campbell (late Chris), and Peggy Fried (late Bob).
Pauline enjoyed taking walks, gardening, cooking, and baking. She treasured time that was spent with her loving family. Her smile touched so many hearts, and she was a beautiful beacon of love and light in this world.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, from 2-5 p.m. A Service will be held 5:00 p.m. at the Findlay C. Wylie Funeral Home, Inc., 11311 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills.
