Nancy (James) Baverso, WPSD Class of 1958, of North Huntingdon, age 84, died on Monday, October 16, 2023.

Nancy was the beloved wife of the late Francis “Poochie” Baverso for 40 years.

She was the loving and caring mother of Philip (Lisa) Baverso, Rose (Paul) Fuga, Luke Baverso, Dawn Baverso and Brian (Kasie) Baverso, all of North Huntingdon.

Nancy was the precious grandmother of Adam Baverso; Nicholas and Ryan Fuga; Dominic and Jacob Baverso; Michael Morris, Amanda and Richard Kovesdy; Connor and William Baverso.

She was the proud great-grandmother of Louie, Faith, Alan, Kooper, Hasley, Mackenzie and Aiden.
Nancy was the sister of Virginia (late Glenn) Rogers of Philadelphia, Peggy (late Mike) Markovich, Jerry James, the late Lemuel (late Gladys) James and Don James.

Nancy was born and raised in Indiana, PA, and at the age of 12, came to live at the Western PA School for the Deaf where she remained until her graduation. WPSD was a place that would be a significant part of her life, not just for her education, but also for the friendships that she cultivated. She met her husband, Francis, at a bowling banquet that was held at WPSD. Their shared experience at the school and their mutual love for their family formed an incredible bond. One of Nancy’s favorite pastimes was participating in a game of Bingo, particularly at the WPSD, where she could combine the joy of the game with socializing with her friends and former schoolmates.

Above all, Nancy was a family woman, a stay-at-home Mom and homemaker. She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. She was especially happy for any opportunity to be a sitter for her grandchildren.

Friends are welcome on Thursday from 2-8pm at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, 412-823-9350 where a Blessing Service will be held on Friday at 11:30 a.m.

Nancy will be laid to rest in Braddock Catholic Cemetery.
