Note: Gertrude was the CODA daughter of the late Enza and Ruth Ludivico; taught as teacher at WPSD till 1980s. Enza and Ruth were well known WPSD graduate and Alumni officers.

Age 88, of Washington, PA, formerly of Penn Hills, PA, died on Thursday, January 15 at the Washington, PA Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, William E. Hanes. She is survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews.

Born in Connellsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Enza and Ruth Ludivico. She is remembered dearly as a Pittsburgh School for the Deaf teacher and actively supported the deaf community not only as a teacher, but as a court interpreter.

She was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church, Sarasota, FL. As a long-term resident of the UPMC Strabane Trails and Woods communities, she often reflected upon the caring support of the staff members and daily resident interactions.

A remembrance gathering and her internment at the Allegheny Cemetery (Pittsburgh) is planned for 21 January at 10:00 AM.
