Jacob G. “Jack” Antal Jr., 83 passed away on January 26, 2026.

He was born March 12, 1942 in Johnstown, PA to late Jacob G. Antal, Sr. And Wilma (Kristoff) Antal. Survived by wife Margaret “Peggy” Schroeder and two sons, Jacob G. “Jake” Antal 3rd and John, wife Logan Smith and 5 grandchildren. Also 9 brothers and sisters.

He was outstanding Basketball player and played for PAD (Pittsburgh), LA. Ephpheta (California), Union League (New York), and SAC (Philadelphia).

He participated Deaf Olympics three times. One was at Finland 1961 as Basketball player (Gold Medal), Washington DC 1965 as Soccer player and Yugoslav 1969 as Basketball player (Gold Medal).

He was induced into Hall of Fame for WPSD Alumni and American Athletic Association of the Deaf (AAAD).

He worked for New York Daily News and Post Office at Valley Forge PA.

He graduated at Western Pennsylvania School f/t Deaf in 1960.
