WPSD Alumni Association Honors Tony Dumblosky as 2025 Outstanding Alumnus of the Year

The Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf Alumni Association (WPSDAA) proudly names Anthony J. “Tony” Dumblosky, Class of 1999, as the 2025 Outstanding Alumnus of the Year. This prestigious honor was awarded during a celebratory dinner held on June 12, 2025, prior to the Commencement Ceremony, in recognition of Tony’s astonishing dedication and enduring contributions to WPSD and its community.
Tony’s journey began at WPSD, where he built a strong foundation that propelled him to achieve great things. After graduating, he continued his education at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID), earning an associate degree in 2003. In 2006, Tony returned to WPSD as a paraprofessional, beginning a career that has positively influenced the lives of countless students over the past 18 years.
In addition to his professional role, Tony has demonstrated extraordinary commitment as a coach and mentor. For many years, he has led soccer and basketball teams across all levels—from Mighty Mites to middle and high school. He has also served as a class advisor for several graduating classes, including the Classes of 2014, 2017, 2018, 2022 and 2027.
His leadership extends to extracurricular and community activities as well. Tony has long served as an advisor to the Jr. National Association of the Deaf (NAD) and currently holds the position of Second Vice President of the WPSDAA. He has also been instrumental in organizing successfully events like Alumni Night and the Cornhole Event, bringing the spirit and connections among the alumni and students.
Outside of his professional life, Tony is a devoted family man. He and his wife, Alicia Beth, are the proud parents of three children – two of whom are WPSD alumni, and one currently enrolled – as well as two grown children from Beth’s previous marriage.
In his spare time, Tony enjoys collecting and selling vintage and antique items, maintaining a booth for his unique finds. A passionate sports fan, he supports Liverpool FC and follows several European football clubs, including SSC Napoli, Celtic FC, and Borussia Dortmund. He is also a loyal supporter of Pittsburgh’s “black and gold” teams, including the Penguins, Riverhounds SC, and Riveters SC.
The WPSDAA congratulates Tony Dumblosky on this well-deserved recognition. His tireless efforts, unwavering passions, and deep dedication have left a lasting mark on WPSD community. We are honored to celebrate his achievements.
Congratulations, Tony!
