Obituary: Homer Rupert, Class of 1969

Homer M. Rupert, 76, of West Newton, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2026 at his home. He was born January 24, 1950 in Greensburg, PA.

Son of the late Bruce A. Rupert Sr. and Theresa B. (Leskosek) Rupert.

He graduated from the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf and then went on to take classes in photography. He then went on to work for Monroe Muffler in New York as a material handler for many years.

Homer was a kind, funny and generous soul. He loved being outdoors; cutting grass on his John Deere and taking care of the farm. He raised beef cattle and chickens and had a large garden every year. He enjoyed cooking and using the vegetables from his garden. In his younger years, he enjoyed traveling on his motorcycle and fishing in his pontoon boat on Lake Ontario.

He is preceded in death by both parents; brother, Bruce A. Rupert Jr., sister, May Rupert and beloved companion, Foxy. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and sisters, Vesta (Ed) Kocinski of Madison, PA and Mary (Dan) Krautz of Greensburg, PA.

Beatty-Rich Funeral Home, Inc. Rt 136 Madison, PA 15663 in charge of arrangements – Ronald A. Rich Jr., Supervisor/FD. All services will be private. A private interment will take placed at the Madison Union Cemetery in Madison, PA.
