Born May 1, 1981, in Clearfield, the daughter of Douglas and Patricia “Patty” (Odrosky) Hess.
She was a graduate of Clearfield Area High School.
Renee had worked for the Pressley Ridge School for the Deaf, Pittsburgh and more recently the dietary department at Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was a member of the Pittsburgh Deaf Club and was an amazing and meaningful person to their community. She also loved all animals, especially cats.
Renee is survived by her parents, her son, River Forest Hawk, a half-brother, Justin Strickland and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her life partner, William “Jeff” Hawk.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., Clearfield on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 3:00 PM with Rev. Robert Croft officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the hour of services.
